MATTHEW FOX ideal for Dredd

I think he should be the guy Rebellion/DNA Films approach.

First clip is his real voice but you can see his great Dredd type chin.

The second clip is when he puts on his Racer X voice - which sounds very much like Dredd's. What a great Dredd voice!

I can't think of a more suitable candidate. He's got the look, the height, the age, the voice, well-known but not a star. He's a decent actor too. Every box he ticks.

I'm certain Matthew Fox would be a super-credible Dredd and his casting would make the film happen, it would give the film a bit more of a high profile. People know of Fox from Lost so it's good publicity for Rebellion and DNA Films. If Dredd film 2 is to work it has to have the right actor playing Dredd. It's a key element. I reckon Fox would be fantastic. I think Rebellion/DNA Films should contact his agent and see if he's interested. This chap would nail Dredd so much.

Just to add one final quick comment -

He's the guy. It all works with this guy as Dredd. It's like that eureka moment where you go "wow - it actually works." It all falls into place.

I can honestly say with this guy as Dredd and with a decent script and budget backing him up... wow - we could have something seriously good.

I think he would make a credible Dredd. Er.. Fox, not the emu.  If you ever see Speed Racer check him out. His voice and look are Dredd-like. He'd need a shave though.

Trust me, this guy would nail Dredd. Look at the Speed Racer trailer at 42 seconds when Fox says

"He's going to be the best."

And then at 1 min 21 seconds mark:

"The only way you'll ever stop these people is to bring them to justice.

He sounds like Dredd. The clincher is this guy can nail a Dredd type character. If you watch Speed Racer - which is fun film, has some amazing CGI too - you'll see this actor can do a Dredd type character.

Just look at his jawline and chin. That's pretty Dredd-like. Combine his Racer X voice and his look and height and you'll have a credible Dredd. Seriously. I'm near 100 percent certain this guy would ideal. Rebellion should contact his agent. If the money comes through to make the film, they should approach this actor to play Dredd (give him a screentest). Here, check this little Youtube thingy I did:

Got a great Dredd voice. It sounds kinda real, not too much of a put on 'deep voice'. Put it like this, if Dredd really existed I could imagine him speaking like that. Seriously, he'd be perfect. How can anyone listen to his voice and just say "he's got the chin, that's all." Have you seen him in Speed Racer? I have. He does a Dredd type character. Sure, the character is a racer, not a super-tough cop but he has a Dredd type vibe. All Fox would need to do is modify the Racer X character a bit and you'd get Dredd. He's an actor, it would be no problem for him to become Dredd.  

Anyone hearing his voice in the second clip must see his potential! It's pretty obvious he'd nail Dredd. (is this slow forum week or something?)
